Cooperative business models for green urban logistics: the last mile delivery

Abstract

Ο σκοπός της διπλωματικής εργασίας ήταν ο εντοπισμός, η αξιολόγηση και η σύγκριση συνεργατικών επιχειρηματικών μοντέλων που έχουν εφαρμοστεί σε projects που αφορούν το last mile delivery στον ευρύτερο τομέα των Green Urban Logistics. Για τον σκοπό αυτό συγκεντρώθηκε βιβλιογραφία σχετική με τα συνεργατικά επιχειρηματικά μοντέλα, τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη και τις προκλήσεις που αφορούν την υιοθέτησή της ως στόχο σε αυτά. Όπως επίσης και σχετική βιβλιογραφία με case studies για σχετικά projects. Στη συνέχεια έγινε μελέτη της μεθοδολογίας που εφαρμόστηκε σε επιστημονικά άρθρα που συγκεντρώθηκαν για την διεκπεραίωση της παρούσας εργασίας. Στο πλαίσιο αυτής της μελέτης αξιολογήθηκε η αποτελεσματικότητα της εφαρμογής των συνεργατικών επιχειρηματικών αυτών μοντέλων, των στόχων βιωσιμότητας που τίθενται σε αυτά, καθώς και η σύγκρουση των στόχων των Stakeholders που συμμετέχουν. Συγκεκριμένα χρησιμοποιήθηκαν πηγές βιβλιομετρικές, ποσοτικές και ποιοτικές και τα συμπεράσματα θα μπορούσαν να χρησιμοποιηθούν ως οδηγός για την επιλογή υιοθέτησης και των κριτηρίων αξιολόγησης του καταλληλότερου και αποτελεσματικότερου συνεργατικού επιχειρηματικού μοντέλου ανά περίπτωση έργου. Επιπρόσθετα, παρουσιάζονται τρία case studies από μεγάλες εταιρίες του ιδιωτικού τομέα, και 15 projects, όπου παρατηρείται η εφαρμογή των συνεργατικών επιχειρηματικών μοντέλων. Επίσης αυτή η μελέτη αποτελεί έναυσμα για περαιτέρω έρευνα στον τομέα.

The purpose of this paper is to locate, evaluate and compare Cooperative Business Models that have been suggested for, or applied to, Green Urban Logistics, and more specifically for the last mile delivery. For this purpose, academic literature was gathered, focusing on these business models. Their nature, objective, effectiveness, as well as the challenges and main obstacles at their application, is reviewed. In addition, bibliography including case studies and projects that apply such models are reviewed. Following, a study was conducted of the methodology that was applied on academic articles that were gathered for the purposes of this research. During this study, the effectiveness of Cooperative Business Models was evaluated in regards of accomplishing their sustainability goals, their financial feasibility in the long term, and the level of cooperation achieved between the main Stakeholders involved. The academic sources that were reviewed were bibliometric, systematic, and some included quantitative, qualitative data, or both, and the results of this study can be used as a guide to the choice of the evaluation criteria for the most efficient Green Cooperative Business Model depending on each case. In addition, 3 case studies of private logistics companies, and 15 projects where Green Business Models were applied, are presented. Moreover, this thesis offers insight, suggestions and warnings for the respective fields.
