This essay presents briefly the growth literature focusing on how different growth models take into account the environmental factor. Natural environment inserts into production procedure through the use of natural resources as raw materials needed for the production of the final good. Throughout this dissertation we observe economic literature concerned about how to model environmental pollution and in extension how to treat the phenomenon of pollution accumulation as economic growth increases in order to sustain economic growth in perpetuity.
